It was an honor for me to meet Steven's parents tonight at the Light the Night Walk. What an inspiration! I didn't know of Steven before. I came home and started reading the postings. The ups and downs tear at my heart. And it brings back the memories when my son, Eli, has his transplant November 6, 2002 at Children's Hospital. Eli is now a freshman at Auburn and returning to a "normal" life. We understand it will take another year to be back to where he was physically before his diagnosis of acute myelogenous leukemia in August 13, 2002. It's through the generous donations that the research continues to fight cancers. Every little bit helps. The LIght the Night Walk in Montgomery raised more than $20,000, money to help fund the researchers and to help patients financially. Let's hope and pray the researchers can improve the treatments and better yet, find a cure soon. There are too many Steven's and not enough Eli's. God Bless your family.
